The General Assembly breaks for two work weeks near the end of session to allow for vetoes by the Governor.  We return for a couple days following the "veto recess" to consider any veto overrides and to continue passing legislation if necessary.  However, bills we pass during these last two days are not "veto proof" because the legislature won't return to session again to override a veto if the Governor wishes to exercise that power on them.

While I do celebrate the final passage and signing of Senate Bill 200 last friday afternoon, The Governor did issue more vetoes.  You can read the official veto letters here:
